Newest development in the life side of things...

I figure it's been so long since I've blogged, I'll start with a rant.

So, I received a call from a collections agency this morning.  Only thing was it wasn't for me.  It was for my ex-wife.  They wanted to know how to find her.  So, I gave them the only number I had.  Not a few minutes off the phone with them, I get an IM from my ex stating it is none of my business and I shouldn't have done that.  <time warp back a bit...>

I was and my ex is a professing Christian.  Reason why I say I "was" is because I've learned what the Truth really is and I am happy to say I am a Christian and continually make my calling and election sure.  I have no qualms in admitting I could have been a better husband, repented (many times over to her and my church), but yet have not received forgiveness or repentance from my ex.  The way the Bible states it, the divorce never should have happened.  <time warp to now>

Now, instead of her paying the debt on time to prevent a call, I'm getting heat for providing contact information.  So, she threatened me with a lawyer to stop my harrassment (which is funny in and of itself since it comes no where close to harrassment and a Christian should not be suing another Christian and told her so).  Then, she tried the "asking nicely" approach.  To which I retorted if she agreed to counseling.  As you could image the request was denied.  She also said, "i know what i've done, i've accepted it, and i've been forgiven for it."  Imagine my surprise at this statement!  There is forgiveness without repentance in which Bible?  Then she proceeds to advise me this is all in counsel of her new pastor (because she was asked to leave our church when our divorce was final for refusing evangelical biblical counsel).

So, she refuses to forgive, repent, accept counseling with me, and it seems like she doesn't believe the true word of God.  And that's sad.  I wore my wedding ring through this whole ordeal and held onto the sliver of hope she might be saved as the only biblical divorce is one out of adultery or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse.  After our brief conversation this morning, I've sorrowfully come to doubt her salvation.  I can't say she isn't saved, as only the Lord knows the condition of her heart.  However, the outward lack of following the Word and displaying the fruits of the Spirit are quite plainly evident.  Of course I will continue to pray for her.  It is God's wish that everyone be saved.  However, "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”  Matthew 7:21-23
